The Build Nova Scotia Fund: Artist Village concept completely reimagines what social systems can be. As we conduct broad-ranging research and engagement to bring this project to life, we've deeply investigated how artists live and work, surveying them directly on the barriers they face. We've also collected data on income, core housing needs and case studies from national peer organizations. Our feasibility phase continues to shape and inform the project, with ongoing activities including market data research and analysis, environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy development, and master planning.
The Artist Village makes long-term artist residencies and programming possible by combining affordable housing with profitable businesses & social enterprise, ensuring a sustainable investment and model for years to come.
